Position: Inventory Specialist
Location: Richmond, VA
Compensation: $15/hour
Schedule: Monday – Saturday, 6:00am – 2:30pm
SUMMARY:
The Inventory Specialist is a key role at this kitchen facility to ensure the warehouse runs smoothly. In this role associates are responsible for the shipping, receiving, organizing and the distribution of products throughout the plant. Other functions may include but are not limited to using the forklift and pallet jack to move and store products, as well as assembling pallets while maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment.
JOB TASKS / FUNCTIONS:
- Operate forklift and pallet jack or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
- Meet departure time of transportation Facilitating products throughout the kitchen to appropriate departments.
- Ensure raw materials (including packaging materials) are staged and available to the production area and meet food safety and quality standards.
- Apply internal lot codes to all incoming food and packaging cases.
- Assist in ensuring that the SQF system is in place and that we follow all aspects of HACCP plan, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant.
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, verify accuracy.
- Manage and ensure the accuracy of documents.
- Operate machinery when necessary.
- Perform physical activities that require a considerable amount of lifting, bending, and handling materials.
- Report all food safety issues to an immediate supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of safe storing and handling procedures of various foods and chemicals
- The ability to arrange things in a certain pattern
- Ability to effectively communicate with supervisor and coworkers; and follow safety and chemical guidelines
- Ability to work flexible schedules as needed for production and/or holidays
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Forklift/ pallet jack experience REQUIRED.
WORK ENVIROMENT:
- Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
