Position Summary

The Housing Support Lead assists homeless individuals in obtaining permanent housing through a rapid re-housing approach and living independently. This position will serve as a lead for Housing Support Specialists.


This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, grant-funded position with the possibility for annual renewal.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and submit ongoing reports as outlined by HUD guidelines and requirements.
  • Regularly attend the Continuum of Care Full Membership meetings and sub-committee meetings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Coordinated Entry and the purpose of function of the CE.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with site contacts and maintain business partner's expectations for productivity, quality, etc.
  • Communication Speak clearly; listen to others; write effectively; establish relationships; act with integrity; establish trust.
  • Build employment supports based on mental health symptoms and functional limitations.
  • Provide individualized housing support services through regular meetings with persons served to work on independent living skills.
  • Assist persons served with budgeting, self-sufficiency planning and community integration.
  • Responsible for maintaining a caseload of 10-20 people while tracking and documenting variety of data about services provided as well as billing through electronic case management systems.
  • Utilize person-centered thinking, motivational interviewing and mental health symptomology to best engage with persons served.
  • Assist the Program Manager in training, modeling, and coaching the housing support team on housing trends/priorities/changes as they relate to our current housing programs and climate.?
  • Provide support to housing team in creative solutions on problem-solving and managing housing crises as they arise for persons served.




Requirements:

Required Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience working in housing support in a non-profit setting
  • Compliance with Rule 11 and MVR background checks required?
  • Comfortable coordinating and informally leading others.
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, efficient, and communicative.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
  • Good driving record and reliable vehicle.


Preferred Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a social services organization is preferred.
  • Experience leading others preferred but not required
  • Ability to work with a diverse team.

Hours of Work

  • Hours of work are typically daytime, Monday through Friday.


Travel

  • Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the day in the Twin Cities and Central MN area- 9 County region (Mileage reimbursement is available)


Work Environment

  • This job operates in a variety of environments. The employee in this role will meet with people supported in a variety of locations, such as coffee shops, Rise office, homeless shelters, person supported' s home, etc. The employee may also meet with prospective and current employers, county representatives, and mental health professionals of persons supported.
