Washington, United States The Black Swan Academy Full time

BSA is a non-profit organization in DC that concentrates its efforts on empowering Black youth through Civic Leadership and Engagement. We are committed to creating a pipeline of Black youth leaders who are committed to improving self, as well as their communities. We have a proven track record of raising awareness around social issues disproportionately harming Black youth and advocating for the elimination of structural and institutional barriers such as inequitable school funding, punitive school discipline policies and practices and police in schools, as well as insufficient student mental health staffing. The work we do is directed by BSA’s middle and high school youth members that learn, unlearn, gain skills and practice them to move issue-based campaigns forward.

Job Description

This position will be responsible for recruiting and engaging youth, parents, and school partners, planning and facilitating workshops and program meetings and supporting internal and public events, direct actions and youth-led advocacy efforts. This position may also be responsible for supervising adult supports in programs. The High School Program Coordinator is a full-time (40 hrs/week) salaried position. This position will be supervised by the High School Program Manager.
