Technical Support Engineer (Industrial Scanners and Marking + DS)

The ISM + DS Industrial Solutions Engineer and Trainer is involved in both technical support to Datalogic technical personnel, such as Application and Field Engineers, and Technical Training and Documentation for Datalogic Teams and Customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Providing training to Datalogic Teams and Datalogic customers, frequently travelling to Customers' premises in North America and occasionally visiting company's headquarters in Italy.
• Develop interactive course content according to objectives.
• Analysis and diagnosis of the most complex technical issues from field (application engineers, field engineers and local tech supports; in case of needs, direct customers) for all products.
• Provide timely and accurate feedback to Datalogic worldwide branches.
• Cooperate with R&D and Quality for the problems that are found on any products. Provide a timeline for and manage team(s) towards the remedy.
• Following up with clients to ensure the problem is solved.
• Provide high level troubleshooting (HW, SW, Mechanical bugs) on product technical issues, interfacing with either R&D or Quality when needed and providing solutions.
• Efficiently inform required personnel about solutions, documenting, and detailing as needed.
• Support customer beta tests for new products or new applications based on new products.
• Prepare Technical documentation to be distributed in field, such as Technical Notes/Bulletins and or training materials.
• Test software applications and device configurations in order to emulate and duplicate reported odd behavior, preparing the necessary test bed equipment.
• Support new product development by collecting and analyzing feedback from beta testers, performing comparisons, and conducting internal testing.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education (School/Specialization) Degree in Engineering
Primary Language English
Other Language
(not required, preferred) Spanish, Italian
Years of Experience 3-4 years in electronics or industrial engineering environment supporting customers and troubleshooting systems
Working knowledge of troubleshooting techniques in industrial environment for electronic or optoelectronic devices
Proficient in engineering software tools and Microsoft office products such as Dynamics, Excel and PowerPoint
Must Have: ability to communicate, cooperate and to establish long term relationships with the teams they work with
Excellent written and verbal communication
