Job Overview

Position: Project Engineer – Environmental Monitoring Systems

Salary: $67,000 to $70,000

Role Summary:

The Project Engineer will engage in engineering, design, and configuration tasks for Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) aimed at quantifying and documenting hazardous air pollutants as mandated by various regulatory bodies. This role involves utilizing diverse measurement technologies such as chemiluminescence, paramagnetic cells, and tunable diode lasers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design engineering for electrical and instrumentation packages.
  • Application of mathematical formulas for pollutant data management, including data storage solutions in SQL databases.
  • Preparation and submission of design documentation, I/O lists, and CAD schematics.
  • Collaboration with suppliers to assess new technologies and methodologies.
  • Conducting field commissioning activities as required.
  • Overseeing project schedules, budgets, client communications, and contractual matters.
  • Providing support for Factory Acceptance Tests and assisting Field Technicians through various communication channels.
  • Configuration and programming of control systems, including sequencing, data management, and logic.
  • Programming of PLC and HMI systems.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation engineering design is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Environmental, or Mechanical).
  • Proficiency in Windows OS and networking.
  • Experience in packaged system design through CAD drawings, Bills of Materials, and customer documentation.
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork (up to 30%).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Preferred: Experience in managing engineering projects with customer interactions.
  • Previous experience in programming PLC, SCADA, DCS, or HMI systems.
  • Organized with strong troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment.
  • Able to work effectively in collaborative project teams.
