Job Responsibilities

Provide technical support to assigned areas and end-users by troubleshooting software (application, operation system, and utilities) and hardware (computers, printers, LAN, and other equipment) problems.
Installs and configures personal computers, printers and other peripheral devices. Performs general maintenance and repair on end-user and IT equipment.

Participates in various short-term projects either as a participant or a team leader.

Assesses user requirements and automation needs. Provides training to users on equipment and systems software.

Provides back-up support for the network, including wireless, workstations, printers and communication hardware and software.
Adheres to established policies, procedures and practices in the performance of assigned duties.

Attends technician meetings, training sessions, and conferences as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communication system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing or processing of information in a data processing environment. An associate's degree or bachelor's degree in computer science or related area may be substituted for the required work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Professional technical certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, Security+, etc...) preferred.

Additional Comments

Technical support entry level position which is performed under the direct supervision of management or senior technical staff.

Incumbent could be expected to bend, stoop, squat, or stand on hard surfaces for approximately 50% of the time. Individual could be expected to lift and move equipment weighing between 20 and 80 pounds for approximately 25% of the time.

Scheduled work week is Monday - Thursday 8:00AM - 5:00PM and Fridays 8:00AM - 1:30PM. Some after-hours/non-business hours work may be required.

Valid SC driver's license and the ability to travel to remote/satellite locations supported by the College and to training sites.
