We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent Specialist to join our team at Armstrong Air & Electric as a Purchasing Agent Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process for our company, focusing on sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services necessary for our operations. Your expertise in vendor management, negotiation, and purchasing best practices will contribute to our company's success in maintaining efficient supply chains and meeting business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement purchasing strategies and policies to optimize procurement processes.

  2. Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.

  3. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with vendors to secure cost-effective deals and favorable terms.

  4. Source and evaluate suppliers, soliciting bids and proposals, and selecting vendors based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.

  11. Analyze market trends, pricing, and product availability to make informed purchasing decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  12. Lead and mentor Department Heads & Project Managers, providing guidance, support, and training as needed

  13. Assist in supplier performance evaluations and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery timelines.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.

  2. Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role within the HVAC or air conditioning industry.

  3. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.

  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

  5. Proficiency in QuickBooks, Google Sheets and Microsoft Office Suite.

  6. Solid understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain processes.

  7. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

  9. Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  10. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to purchasing and procurement.
