The Department of Agriculture is seeking candidates for a Weights and Measures Inspector position that performs critical work in ensuring compliance with State Weights and Measures Laws and Regulations. Apply today and join our dedicated team DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will be responsible for examining and performing accuracy assessments on weighing and measuring instruments utilized in business transactions, checking goods packaged, sold, or presented for sale based on weight, measurement, or quantity, reviewing inspections conducted by Certified Examiners of Weights and Measures, and probing claims of deceit and misconduct, and implementing enforcement measures as needed. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This is a Home Headquartered position, applicants must reside in one of the following counties: Lawrence, Butler, Armstrong, Indiana, Westmoreland, Allegheny, Beaver, Washington, Fayette, and Green. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of public contact work, including one year of experience in weights and measures inspections; and graduation from high school. or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the requisite knowledge and skills and abilities with weights and measures inspections. Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid PA Class B or higher commercial driver's license (CDL).
