Summary / Role Description

The R&D Verification Engineer joins the Digital Mission Engineering business unit to conduct software testing of ANSYS applications such as Systems Tool Kit, Orbit Determination Tool Kit, and Behavior Execution Engine. This role helps to assess how well the product meets customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability and ensures that product requirements and quality standards are satisfied. It will also contribute to the development of internal tools used to implement quality processes, and assist development teams in performing automated application testing. The individual works closely with other members of the R&D team and with some of the brightest minds in aerospace and software architecture.

This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform functional, application, regression, performance and API testing in manual and/or automated test environments
  • Automate testing activities at both the application and source code levels
  • Contribute to expanding test coverage, monitoring daily test results, and diagnosing root causes of test failures
  • Participate in the maintenance of our suite of automated tests
  • Apply technical expertise and engineering background to test design and decision making
  • Be an active and flexible team member ensuring the success of projects
Minimum Requirements and Experience
  • Bachelors in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Strong programming experience in C#, Java and/or Python
  • Scripting experience in Perl or other scripting languages
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities
  • Willing and able to learn new problem areas, codebases, programming languages, platforms, and tools
  • Knowledge of Windows & Linux, operation and administration - both will be required
  • Sound interpersonal skills, communication skills, judgment and analytical abilities
  • Attention to detail, organized
Preferred Requirements
  • Basic understanding of industry standard software engineering practices such as CI/CD
  • Experience with automated test frameworks such as NUnit and/or JUnit
  • Experience with cross-platform development and containers
  • Knowledge of model-based systems engineering including SysML
  • Knowledge of our software products
