The Opportunity:

Help shape the future of technology in the dynamic world of Hamilton Lane's Enterprise Technology team as Chief Enterprise Architect, reporting directly to the CTO. This is a critical leadership role that will be contributing to the architecture and engineering of solutions across all core technology verticals.

We're looking for a highly energetic candidate that is comfortable researching, engineering, sharing knowledge, and providing guidance to others.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Be a thought leader - stay on top of the latest and emerging trends in technology with respect to software engineering and infrastructure; identify opportunities to leverage these within current and future technology solutions.
  • Be an evangelist for tech-enabling business processes and work elbow to elbow with stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Ensure operational excellence by providing architectural guidance on third-party software integration.
  • Optimize our architecture landscape by auditing and providing insights on previously built solutions.
  • Lead efforts to enable cloud native applications and enable teams to optimize existing applications to a scalable cloud architecture.
  • When necessary, roll up your sleeves to architect and develop technology solutions for internal use within Hamilton Lane.
  • Guide and mentor members of the Enterprise Technology engineering teams.
Your background will include:
  • Extensive technology experience (20+ years), spanning multiple domains including application architecture, data architecture, infrastructure architecture, and cybersecurity architecture.
  • Proven record of successfully implementing large-scale architectural transformations.
  • Significant experience with cloud technologies and architectures (Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts, design patterns, and software architecture principles (Microsoft languages/technologies preferred).
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage concepts and technologies (Microsoft platforms preferred).
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and network engineering concepts and principles, including experience with infrastructure automation (i.e. Terraform).
  • Demonstrated experience leading key technology decisions and initiatives, including experience driving cultural and organizational change to support these initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Aptitude to learn and stay engaged in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in any technology, data, or adjacent field.
