Senior Software Systems Architect
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Senior Software Systems Architect, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the scalability and dependability of Boomi's operational systems. Your expertise will be crucial in automating the setup and upkeep of our infrastructure, ensuring that production incidents are promptly identified, addressed, and documented to meet our service level agreements and objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enhance the reliability and scalability of Boomi's production systems.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and maintenance tasks.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and report on production incidents.
- Participate in on-call rotations for both planned and unplanned events.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to implement process improvements and achieve consistent outcomes.
- Work alongside Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) to conduct Disaster Recovery drills and ensure readiness for various response scenarios.
- Partner with Service Engineering teams to develop and automate tools, implement best practices for observability, and manage Boomi services in production.
- Work autonomously with minimal guidance from technical leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering Management, Computer Science, Digital Science, or a related discipline, along with two (2) years of relevant experience in roles such as Software Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Software Developer. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a similar field with five (5) years of experience will also be considered.
Required experience includes:
- Supporting large-scale software systems in production environments.
- Utilizing cloud services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, Fargate, and RDS.
- Automating processes using Python, Ansible, CloudFormation, and Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Creating Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) using Amazon Linux and RHEL.
- Working with Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS components.
- Developing Ansible playbooks and automation for Infrastructure as Code.
- Defining and improving Reliability Metrics using Service Level Objectives and Indicators.
- Implementing observability practices, including monitoring and logging.
- Conducting and automating Disaster Recovery exercises in AWS.
- Designing and implementing APIs for internal use.
COMPENSATION:
$164,800/year
