Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay's (RTTB) mission is to "repair homes, revitalize communities, and rebuild lives." Since our founding in 2000, RTTB has expanded across Florida to meet the ever-increasing demand for our services. With headquarters in Tampa and offices in Sarasota, Fort Myers, Arcadia, Orlando, St. Petersburg, Port Charlotte, and Panama City, plus two Hurricane Distribution Centers in Tampa and Panama City, we actively serve 22 counties. Our efforts focus on assisting survivors of natural disasters with long-term recovery and providing critical home repairs and education to low-income families. We offer the following programs: safe and healthy homes, disaster readiness and recovery, and affordable housing opportunities. Through these programs, we empower families to safely and independently maintain their homes, lowering insurance rates, reducing the risk of homelessness, creating opportunities for generational wealth, and stabilizing entire neighborhoods.

Role

The Grant Development Coordinator works cross-departmentally and supports the Grant Development Manager in a key role, developing and managing a pipeline of current and prospective grant funders that align with RTTB's mission and programs. Through planned research, identification, development, cultivation, stewardship, compliance, and reporting activities, the Grant Development Coordinator will submit proposals and manage awards in support of development goals.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Grant Development Manager
  • Manage and inform strategy to develop strong, expanding pipelines of grant-based donors for organization operations, programs, and projects
  • Track and monitor annual revenue goals for grants to provide financial updates and recommendations for annual budget development
  • Analyze grant funding trends to identify growing programs, opportunities for increased funding, and areas in need of greater development
  • Conduct internal and external research to identify new grant opportunities with foundations, governmental agencies, corporations, and community-based funders
  • Maintain organization data and details for use in grants and by colleagues across organizational operations
  • Cultivate, manage, and maintain relationships with grantors and stakeholders through targeted and strategic outreach, interpretation, and stewardship
  • Develop grant-based opportunities with appropriate internal departments and staff, and help coordinate project plans to ensure adequate reporting and compliance per grant guidelines
  • Communicate and embrace organization's mission and translate concepts into development opportunities
  • Manage CRM database and grantor files, including all grant information, analysis, gift acknowledgements, clean-up, and quality control
  • Maintain and update prospect lists, solicitation calendars, and related grant materials
  • Prepare internal grant reports, tracking budget and financial performance with Grant Development Manager oversight
  • Manage stewardship efforts to ensure recognition is fulfilled in a timely fashion, providing grant award details to marketing team for use in newsletters, reports, social media, etc.
  • Support special events and projects as needed
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree (required) in nonprofit management, English, journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, prospect research, or a related field. Will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Fundamental understanding of budgeting, fundraising cycles, and developing and writing a case study.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple applications, timelines, and deadlines effectively
  • Understanding of fundraising best practices and methods to achieve revenue goals, overall grant-based donor strategies, and effective communication of the mission
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and remain flexible
  • Excellent initiative and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to the needs of the team, partners, donors, stakeholders, and other groups
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, with strong strategic planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to represent the organization in a professional and positive manner at all times
  • Must be able to discreetly handle sensitive and confidential information
Language Skills:
  • Document Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret a variety of documents, including professional reports, legal materials, requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for applications (RFAs), project proposals, and presentations.
  • Communication and Reporting: Ability to prepare and deliver effective reports and presentations. Skilled in crafting clear and concise correspondence that aligns with organizational standards.
  • Public Speaking and Information Presentation: Proficient in presenting information clearly and effectively, addressing diverse groups such as the general public, funders, partners, stakeholders, and coworkers. Capable of fielding and responding to questions in a comprehensive and professional manner.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals of diverse ages, faiths, and cultural backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
