Overview

The Logistics Coordinator will prioritize the international cargo shipments, have constant customer and vendor communication to provide updates, handle the export process, and obtain/process necessary documents.  In addition, this coordinator will be responsible for all freight-forwarding activities and ensuring necessary international shipping regulations and guidelines are being met.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises the daily work engaged in order selection, order loading
  • Identifies and addresses logistical challenges to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Experience in outbound shipping using Ocean, OTR, and Air carriers
  • Prepares work schedules including extra workdays and shifts as needed
  • Provides consultation to customers on the importation of goods through U.S. Customs, governmental regulations/inspections, changes in import regulations, transportation, bonding/insurance requirements, and general industry expertise
  • Daily Reconciliation of all international outbound shipments, using management-established tracking tools
  • Ability to identify proper international packaging and adjust according to shipment needs
  • Support internal departments on related activities to ensure the optimal means of transportation are being used.
  • Provide support in supplying all necessary documentation for international requirements and audits.
  • Maintains a high level of precision and accuracy in all documentation, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
  • Cross-train/train vertically and become the subject matter expert on all international shipping responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with customer freight forwarders using CFS / Ports / Airports / Railyards
  • Additional responsibilities within international shipping scope as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Spanish/English Bi-Lingual is a must
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 to 2 years in logistics and or international shipping experience
  • Shipping and receiving experience in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills; emails/excel/word)
  • Prolonged standing and walking for up to eight (8) hours.
  • Lifting and pushing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
