Position Summary:

Vallen's Metalworking Solutions Specialist will be a contributor that supports the sales strategy & contract compliance for the Metalworking product category (cutting tools, abrasives, etc.) in an established customer base. They work with existing, and new clients to effectively sell the features and benefits of Metalworking and cost savings opportunities. They are subject matter experts and are sought out by other sales and/or business managers to enhance the Metalworking programs that they oversee. Position requires the ability to effectively engage, design, and work collaboratively with manufacturing representatives, as well as Vallen product marketing, sales management, operations teams, field sales, and Vallen inside sales to promote respective lines/goods & services that are offered by those organizations. This position provides effective & profitable solutions with the intention of promoting and increasing the scope of Vallen's single source solution.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Grow metalworking sales within existing Vallen customers
  • Support existing metalworking applications at Vallen customers
  • Align growth with national team at targeted key accounts for Vallen
  • Training of Vallen sales associates in assigned markets on metalworking
  • Communication with Vallen management on territory projects and goals to accelerate growth
  • Partnership with metalworking manufacturers to grow sales & value added services
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders at Vallen customers to expand metalworking sales & scope
  • Presentation of process improvements in metalworking to Vallen customers
  • Identification of cost savings opportunities for Vallen customers in metalworking.
  • Participate in machine cleanouts to trial new metalworking
  • Implementation of cost savings and process improvements at Vallen customers
  • Interface and listen to stakeholders, providing high service levels
  • Personally conduct tooling or run-off testing to deliver documented total cost of ownership benefits

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; directly applicable experience may be substituted
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Superior verbal & written communication with external & internal customers
  • Sales experience in metalworking preferred
  • Understanding of manufacturing plant floor and key stakeholders preferred
  • Valid Driver's License

Work Environment:
