Job Summary:

The Business Development Representative is responsible for helping Edenred Pay obtain better brand recognition and financial growth through marketing led lead generation activities. Primary duties include prospecting warm and cold leads developed via market research, trade shows and other means. It is expected that candidates will either have the skills or can learn the skills needed to coordinate with company executives, sales, and marketing professionals, and will have the ability to review current market trends to better source potential lead targets. The ideal candidate finds building relationships enjoyable and easy and will understand the importance of identifying the customers business needs, will understand or be willing to learn how to qualify a lead, and will set new appointments with customers who may have a potential opportunity. The Business Development Representative will work closely with Outside Sales Teams to create action plans and sales strategies that will help us reach our growth initiatives - including new customer acquisition and upper funnel portfolio optimization.

Essential Functions: Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow-up with leads from our online sales channel, nurture the leads and work with Outside Sales to convert leads to sales
  • Generate qualified prospects using cold email, cold calling, social selling, and networking
  • Identify prospects through own research and with support from Marketing to seek out new business
  • Qualify prospects based on company research and proper questioning techniques
  • Initiate outreach to identified prospects to establish relationships
  • Identify and advance the sales conversation with qualified prospects
  • Book meetings and appointments directly with prospect and appropriate Outside Sales team members
  • Facilitate appropriate handoff to Outside Sales
  • Meticulous maintenance of CRM database, documenting key data and any insights from conversation
  • Represent the company by consistently demonstrating the understanding and modeling of our mission and values
  • Strive to exceed goals and objectives, contributing to the organization's success
  • Contribute to team effort by partnering with internal stakeholders as needed
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability in business-to-business (B2B) or business-to-consumer (B2C) sales
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Adequate word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills or proficiency to learn
  • Individual should be goal oriented, have a positive upbeat disposition, and can blend into a diverse and enthusiastic team determined to win every day
  • Adaptable, coachable, self-motivated, eager to learn individuals will be given highest consideration
Education and Experience:
  • B2B Business Development or Sales Experience, B2C sales experience, or Customer Support Experience and a desire, willingness, and aptitude to learn enterprise sales skills.
  • You have a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • You are goal-oriented, data-driven, focused on results, and can thrive in a fast-paced and fast growth organization
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with an office position that involves standing, sitting, reaching, manual dexterity to operate office machines, stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, and mobility to complete errands or deliveries
  • May work at computer monitors for prolonged periods with danger of eye strain and muscle pain
