What You'll Do:

The Inventory Specialist Technician will excel at performing all the responsibilities and tasks of a pharmacy technician. Additionally, the Inventory Specialist Technician is responsible for maintaining a consistent approach to the pharmacy inventory management in conjunction with the pharmacy manager. Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare inventories, order drugs and supplies, receive drugs and stock shelves.
  • Receive, store, and inventory pharmaceutical supplies or medications, check for expired medications, and evaluate inventory levels for optimal efficiency.
  • Unpack, sort, count, and label incoming medications from suppliers, including items requiring special handling or refrigeration.
  • Manage prescriptions in the "waiting bin" inventory.
  • Perform returns of pharmaceutical products based on suggested returns, identified items for returns, and periodic counts.
  • Ensure pharmacy inventory levels are routinely counted to verify balance on hand is accurate in pharmacy management system. This may include developing a shared responsibility chart to include other pharmacy team members.
  • Ensure pharmacy counts are accurate prior to end of year inventory assessment that occurs March 31st annually.
  • Provides training on inventory related tasks to other pharmacy team members.
What We're Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • National certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician - PTCB preferred.
  • Valid state pharmacy technician registration.
  • Previous experience managing and supervising employees preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required. If bilingual, provides language support services, as requested, based on patient and pharmacy needs.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology.
