Role Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for a range of tasks related to the acquisition of materials, equipment, and supplies in accordance with established hospital protocols focused on cost efficiency, quality assurance, and timely delivery. This role involves active participation in sourcing teams for research, bidding, and contract management pertaining to supplies and services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement and facilitate electronic procurement processes to strengthen strategic supplier relationships. Act as the main point of contact between the organization and suppliers to ensure contract fulfillment.
* Cultivate strategic partnerships with suppliers to enhance cost-saving initiatives. Oversee supplier performance in relation to service delivery and address any performance-related issues.
* Engage in sourcing teams for research, bidding, and contract management of supplies and services. Serve as the primary operational resource for procurement issues within assigned departments. Provide education and guidance to departmental staff on utilizing the electronic purchasing system.
* Maintain comprehensive records of current and prospective supplies, including materials, pricing, delivery timelines, and inventory levels. Ensure proper management of all official storeroom inventories and non-inventory items according to established procedures.
* Regularly update files related to open and closed purchase orders, packing slips, and other relevant documentation for timely reference and assist Accounts Payable in matching invoices to purchase orders accurately.

Qualifications:
Required:
* Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Minimum of two (2) years of experience in purchasing.
Preferred:
* Experience in procurement within a healthcare setting.
