This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
As an Adult Sports Coordinator, you will provide administrative and program support to the Health and Wellbeing Department. If hired for this position, you will be responsible for program development, supervision of staff, and overall program quality assurance. Programming includes creating workshops, tournaments, and leagues for a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive schedule of Adult Sports programs, including workshops, tournaments, and leagues.
- Coordinate program logistics, such as facility bookings, equipment ordering/resupply, and participant registration.
- Ensure a high-quality experience for Adult Sports program participants by creating engaging and inclusive activities.
- Supervise and support staff during program implementation to maintain program quality and safety
- Confidently lead members with a variety of skill level through adult sports programs
- Identify and assist in the development of small groups and activities that help bring members together.
- One to two years of experience in athletics (preferred).
- One to two years related experience working with and/or facilitating adult groups (preferred).
- One to two years related experience in program development, delivery, and supervision preferred.
- One year of experience supervising others preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or two years related knowledge and experience preferred.
- Be able to set an excellent example in health, fitness and member service.
- General computer skills.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications.
- Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day. Complete other online and in-person training as required.
Hours:Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
Location:University YMCA, Tacoma, WA
