The Director of Wellness oversees the entire clinical department with professionalism, strong leadership, and integrity. Ensuring resident-centered, quality care is at the forefront of the Director of Wellness's job scope.

In order to best serve our residents, the Director of Wellness must foster a dynamic, adaptable, and efficient clinical department that is run in accordance with Federal, State and company standards and requirements. Job Duties Director of Wellness job duties include, but are not limited to:
• Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as DHH and state regulations.
• Works closely with CNA/PCA supervisors and lead LPNs to verify that all supervision is being conducted in an appropriate, fair, and professional manner.
• Works closely with the Marketing Director in order to facilitate all clinical-related needs for move-ins
• Tracks and complies with staffing, payroll, and departmental budgets.
• Routinely assesses the staffing pattern in comparison to community census and/or care levels to ensure that there is not over or under staffing.
• Tracks and mitigates approaching overtime within the department.
• Monthly supply inventory and ordering.
• Involvement in recruitment and interviewing staff members when needed.
• Maintains the monthly clinical schedule.
• Conducts meetings, disciplinary actions, and terminations with Human Resources.
• Participates in floor-nursing care as needed and is responsible for the direct handling of emergent situations.
• Handles clinical complaints, incidents, and falls within company policy and DHH regulations.
• Verifies timecards and assists with payroll preparation tasks i.e. missed punches and training hours for clinical staff.
• Works closely with RN Consultant and Medical Director regarding residents' plans of care and care needs.
• Organizes, plans, and supervises training and continuing education in-services for the clinical department.
• The understanding and enforcement of infection control procedures
• All other duties as directed by supervisor(s) and/or member(s) of the management team.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing management and experience, including hiring staff, coaching, performance management, daily operations supervision, discipline, and counseling.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when necessary and weekends, evenings to meet the needs of the community's residents.
  • Possess basic computer and electronic ability to complete the required onboarding, training and job-specific tasks.
  • Clear communication and teamwork with all departments to provide well-rounded care.
  • Understanding of advanced directives and end-of-life care.

Qualifications
• Current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse license/certification.
• Must possess the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be CPR and First Aid Certified.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
