Help Desk Automation Specialist

Ferrandino & Son currently has an opening for an ambitious Help Desk Automation Specialist, a new role that blends the traditional responsibilities of today's help desk with the innovative technologies of tomorrow. Responsibilities for Help Desk Automation Specialist:
- Be the first person to handle all issues related to computers and systems from all employees
- Write thorough reports that record the requests for technical support, the actions taken to address them, and the relevant dates and people involved in Ticketing system and/or internal KB(OneNote)
- Be proactive and engaged with the internal ticketing queue... jump in and work on tickets
- Perform regular maintenance on PCs, networks, telephone systems and peripherals that have been installed.
- Analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex desktop issues for end users, including recommending and implementing solutions, both on-site and remotely.
- Learn to develop, test, and deploy automated solutions for common helpdesk issues using low-code platforms like Microsoft Power Automate and Azure Logic Apps.
- Learn and apply programming concepts and fundamentals to create efficient automation scripts and workflows using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, OpenAI's GPT (including MS OpenAI integrations), and Zapier.
- Handle incoming calls and/or work orders that relate to desktop issues.
- Set up and deploy computers, phone systems, wireless networks, and devices (e.g., printers, scanners, mobile phones) according to department guidelines.
- Check that all desktop connections for on-site or remote users are working properly. For example, user VPN to corporate network, Wifi available, home internet meets minimum requirements, etc.
- Prepare tests and applications for monitoring desktop performance, then provide performance statistics and reports.
- Minimum one year of customer-focused experience involving technical knowledge of company products and services.
- Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred
- Certification in computer languages or software related to the industry is a plus (e.g., Microsoft certifications or Cloud Plus certs are desirable but not required).
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to set reasonable deadlines for resolution.
- Proficient with help desk software and remote desktop programs, assisting others as needed.
- Open to receiving and learning from customer feedback to improve software or IT services.
- Experience working with different operating systems including Windows.
- Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently.
- Professional written and interpersonal skills are essential when communicating with customers and clients.
- Exposure or basic understanding in any of the following:
- O365 environments, Microsoft Azure
- Windows Software deployment methods (SCCM, PDQ deploy, etc)
- Active Directory(onPrem) User account creation, Group assignments, etc)
- Remote management software (Splashtop, Teamviewer, etc)
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member’s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, budget and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $24 - $30 an hour.
