POSITION SUMMARY

The Industrial Maintenance Technician 1 is responsible for safely repairing industrial machinery and performing building maintenance. This includes, but is not limited to, troubleshooting, maintaining tools and equipment, and coordinating with management about different repairs. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to learn who is a self-starter, safety minded, and already possesses some hands on experience in an industrial setting.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Complete industrial machinery and building maintenance repairs (injection mold machinery, extrusion machine, electrical equipment, lighting, HVAC systems, painting, pneumatic systems, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and maintain small tools to large industrial equipment.
  • Partner with Maintenance Tech II for preventative maintenance (PM). This could include changing filters, oiling parts, minor electrical repairs, etc.
  • Assist in building new fixtures, office equipment, and other necessary tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Support facilities team as needed to ensure a safe and clean work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Trade school, preferred

  • 2 years of working with mechanical systems, electrical systems, tools, or machines required.
  • Previous forklift experience preferred.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Basic computer skills, ability to add, subtract, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance, both electrical and mechanical systems.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is subject to Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Activities

This position is subject to the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, crawling, and repetitive motions.

Visual Acuity

The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operating machines such as lathes, drill presses, power saws and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach, performing mechanical or skilled trades' tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as carpenters, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.

Working Conditions

The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment.

Education Technical/other training of Mechanical Systems (preferred)
Experience 2 years: 2 Years Industrial Maintenance Experience (required)
