[The position is supervised by the MHA Executive Director, Virginia Glynn Barr. The Salary is 41,000.00 per year, which is $3,416.66 per month. MHA Salaries are paid on the 1st of each month. This is a 40 hour per week position and recommend a college degree with some mental health experience and/or familiarity with substance use to supervises volunteer mentors and schedules services for mental health, substance use, and Veterans mentoring for persons participating in the Okaloosa Veterans Treatment Court Program. Veterans Treatment Court contracts with the Mental Health Association for the provision of services. The services and duties of the Mentor Coordinator are: The Mentor Coordinator will recruit, train, supervise and coordinate volunteer mentors for the Okaloosa County Veterans Treatment Court. The Mentor Coordinator is also responsible for scheduling mentors to be present during court proceedings. The Mentor Coordinator organizes all mentor activities with the Court staff, Court Coordinator and the Judge. The Mentor Coordinator will serve the Okaloosa County Veterans Treatment Court by performing duties to include, but are not limited to, tasks as assigned by the Judge, attending Court and Court staffing, sustaining and evolving the Veteran Mentor Program, maintaining mentor logs and resources, and planning and implementing Veteran Mentor recognition activities. The Mentor Coordinator shall coordinate all Veterans Treatment Court services to include, but are not limited to, clinical assessments, psychological testing, psychological assessments and visits, hyperbaric chamber treatments, medication management, mentor services, outpatient substance abuse and mental health services, and urinalysis services either directly or through a qualified third party substance abuse or mental health counselor as deemed necessary by Court Participant needs or Court order. The Mentor Coordinator will assist Court Participants with temporary housing, utilities, medical management, and transportation as long as funds are available and deemed appropriate. The Mentor Coordinator will also aid VA HUD-V ASH housing social workers to procure housing for Participants as deemed necessary and appropriate. The Mentor Coordinator candidate must pass State 3 Background check VTC staffing begins at 0900 usually in room 2-501 in the Okaloosa County courthouse. Attending fund-raising functions such as annual Gala, Awards Banquet and DC W AF requirements. Any tasks the Executive Director or Administrative Assistant assigns as needed by the Agency. Attend quarterly Veteran Court Staff meetings Phase one and Phase two VTC twice a month this is usually the first of the VTC proceedings of the month. All 5 phases meet on the last scheduled VTC MHA purchases $25 gift cards for VTC graduates. All the necessary VTC documents, including handbook, intake forms, VTC dates are located on the VTC coordinators computer in folders on the desktop. The coordinator is responsible to make business cards for each of the Mentors, these are located on the computer in a folder on the desktop.
