THE ROLE:

As the Grants Coordinator you are responsible for optimizing the performance of multiple federal and state grants. You will be a part of an inter-departmental team who will coordinate efforts, identify and solve interrelated challenges, and manage risks to ensure success. You will work at all levels of the organization and across organizational boundaries to ensure efficient, timely, and effective grant management. As the Grants Coordinator you will collaborate with a dynamic team with dotted-line relationships to the FWCS employees who will support you and manage day-to-day grant activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensure accountability for grant results and use of resources.

2. Track, measure, and report organizational performance and objectives by monitoring work plans, budgets, and timelines for all grants.

3. Work collaboratively across organizational boundaries maintaining relationships with all implementing partners. Set clear expectations for outcomes and milestones and ensure awareness of funds, activities, progress, and barriers. Seek opportunities to identify and solve interrelated challenges and manage risks across partners.

4. Ensure implementing partners develop consistent project plans with tolerance, budgets, and timelines that are clearly articulated. Monitor to ensure all parties comply with all terms and conditions of grant award guidelines and provide federally required reports and documentation timely.

5. Foster open exchange of information and manage information flow within and across organizational boundaries.

6. Ensure production of consistent outputs, drive progress, and provide resources to support corrective action when necessary.

7. Align teams around grant management and project management best practices and provide capacity and competency building.

8. Prepare all applicable reports for sponsored programs and ensure their timely submission.

9. Coordinate with key personnel at all levels of the District to support proper and timely expenditure of grant funds in compliance with applicable guidelines and budget timelines.

10.Review modifications requested by program managers.

11.Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Budgeting to meet the particular needs of the building/unit and must demonstrate participation in and contributions to the goals of District cross functional teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
• Practical knowledge and understanding of the challenges and opportunities involved in grant management
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and collaboration in a professional setting
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in problem-solving environment
• High degree of efficiency in data interpretation and presentation
• Computer aptitude, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and Office 365
• Continuous improvement mind-set

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, & CERTIFICATION:
• A Bachelor's Degree preferred with two years of academic and/or relevant experience with the above duties and responsibilities.
• Experience in grant development and management experience preferred
