They are also the communication link between the patients and physician. Our allergy department is fast-pace where attention to detail and basic math skills will be frequently utilized. Team members are assigned a home location in Louisville, KY, and travel to all company locations will be required. Technical skills: Allergy testing (foods, inhalants, chemicals, IDT, intradermal and sublingual)Calculate and mix treatment sets for immunotherapyPrepare testing and treatment boards and maintainAdminister routine allergy immunotherapy; answer questions & educate patients regarding allergy servicesDetermine if a patient is having a reaction and follow protocolTriaging phone calls and giving instructions for refer to physician, if neededChecks voicemail and returns patient callsAdminister emergency medications (SubQ or IM)Prioritize task consistently; follow through with all tasksCommunicates to the patients, physicians, peers and Manager in a clear, concise mannerOrganize testing and injection rooms; maintain suppliesCover the Serum Coordinator responsibilities when he/she is out of the officeChecks & maintains ER medications & equipment by providing details to manager for orderingCalls Rx for Epi-pen and syringes according to protocolFollows all HIPAA regulationsMaintains education requirements for job (CPR, Safety, Infection Control, etc.), if requiredPhlebotomy, centrifuge blood, and complete forms to mail specimen to the labNotify patient of test results Administrative skills: Documents accurately in EMR and the paper chart in a clear, concise, factual mannerResponsible for charging, coding and posting each procedure accuratelyDocumenting all phone messages in EMRObtains Medicaid authorizations or referrals for serum and document in EMRAssist during injection hours, including but not limited to: answering phones; pulling serum; pulling and filing chartsVerifies patients' insurance benefits for all allergy proceduresOrganize serum list and email to Serum Coordinator Requirements: Documents accurately in EMR and the paper chart in a clear, concise, factual mannerResponsible for charging, coding and posting each procedure accurately
