Pharmacist - Medication Distribution Specialist

The Hospital Pharmacist plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely distribution of medications and pharmaceutical supplies. This position requires a strong understanding of established procedures and standards to support high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities include interpreting and verifying medication orders, assessing drug-drug, drug-allergy, and drug-disease state interactions, and providing drug information to clinicians and patients.

The Pharmacist is also responsible for maintaining accurate and complete records on patient profiles and controlled drug substances, as well as managing pharmaceutical inventories and emergency drug supplies.

This position directs and verifies the work of Pharmacy Technicians and requires a commitment to maintaining competency and participating in clinical programs such as Anticoagulation Management and Pharmacokinetic Monitoring.

The ideal candidate will possess a Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree, a current New Jersey State license as a Registered Pharmacist, and ACLS and CPR certifications.

Two years of experience, preferably in a hospital setting, is preferred. The ability to stand for approximately 60% of the time and occasional reaching are also required.

The Hospital Pharmacist reports to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and provides direction to the Pharmacy Technician.
