Job Title: Technical Writer Location: Jacksonville, IL Pay Range: $ 20-22/hr What’s the Job? Develop and maintain user-friendly documentation, primarily focused on creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Preventative Maintenance tasks. Collaborate with subject matter experts like maintenance technicians, supervisors, and engineers to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into easy-to-follow instructions. Observe processes firsthand to gather accurate information and validate procedure details. Review and edit existing documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to company standards. Ensure all technical content aligns with industry best practices and guidelines. What’s Needed? Strong computer skills with experience using SAP a plus. Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial environment. Prior experience in a skilled maintenance role is preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and identify components. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a knack for explaining complex topics simply.
