Key Responsibilities

  • Provide essential support to the Public Works Directorate through various engineering tasks.
  • Assist in engineering design and support services, including the management of the engineering drawing library and database.
  • Conduct clerical tasks such as scanning, copying, and printing of engineering documents.
  • Perform material testing, including concrete compression strength tests and aggregate analysis.
  • Ensure timely maintenance and availability of engineering and technical documentation.
  • Support the development and completion of project documentation, including 1391s and Scope of Work.
  • Review design and study comments within specified timelines.
  • Create and update engineering plans and drawings using the latest AutoCAD software.
  • Maintain accurate facility plans, building files, and GIS files.
  • Provide as-built drawings for various engineering projects.
  • Keep detailed records of project drawings and their revision statuses.
  • Manage a technical library to ensure accessibility of technical documents and reference materials.
  • Implement a systematic numbering system for drawings to facilitate identification and retrieval.
  • Utilize ESRI ArcGIS geodatabase for drawing and design work.
  • Ensure the completeness and currency of the technical library inventory.
  • Engage in various engineering design tasks, including drafting and land surveying.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of related experience may substitute for one year of education.
  • Preferred qualifications include an associate degree in an engineering discipline and Autodesk certification.
  • A valid state driver's license is required.
  • Five years of experience using recent versions of AutoCAD for architectural, mechanical, electrical, or civil drawings is essential.
