Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • This Diesel Powertrain Calibration Engineer position involves evaluating, assessing, testing, & optimizing vehicle attributes.
  • Modify vehicle and powertrain calibrations to meet attributes including emissions, drivability, performance, diagnostics, fuel economy, and NVH. This can be on vehicles and/or in engine dynamometer test cells
  • Responsibilities could include specialization in Engine combustion setpoints, SCR Aftertreatment operation, DPF Regen Mode operation and temperature control, CAN communications, and diagnostics calibration meeting requirements based on robust statistical metrics
  • Perform data analysis and regress model calibrations with large data sets & communicate conclusions
  • Interface with software algorithm suppliers (internal and external) to evaluate new features prior to development process
  • Calibrate and sign-off features for future model year Diesel programs
  • Document progress and methods used to calibrate & validate features within assigned responsibility
  • Use models and simulation to reduce testing and optimize powertrain calibrations
  • Position may require travel to remote development locations (Arizona/Canada/Colorado/Florida) for vehicle testing - approximately 2 weeks per trip and 3 trips per year
Qualifications:
  • Strong problem-solving skills to drive resolution of sophisticated system issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent data analysis capabilities, including statistical knowledge
  • Team player who excels in a collaborative and cross-functional environment
  • Valid Driver's license required
Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSME, BSEE, BSAE, BS Chemical Engineering, BSE Computer Science, BS Computer Engineering)
