Position Overview
The Data Manager/Registrar will lead the collection, analysis, and dissemination of school, student, and instructional data. This position will also be responsible for the all aspects of enrollment, withdrawal, grades, attendance, scheduling and all aspects of the SIS. The worksite and tour of duty for this position are located in the DC Jail which is an adult correctional facility.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Enrolling all students in the student information system
- Registering all students for classes in the student information systems
- Maintaining accurate and updated class rosters and schedules in the student information system
- Ensuring that all staff properly uses the student information system to collect student grades and all student data in a timely fashion
- Working closely with the administrative team to ensure the alignment of scheduling, progress reporting, and student recordkeeping with the school-wide instructional program and with the student's individual academic needs
- Maintaining student transcripts, cumulative student records, and the names of students promoted and graduated or eligible for graduation.
- Completing state-mandated and other required reports as needed
- Managing data entry and data reporting in all data systems
- Managing the production of data dashboards-including data related to attendance, discipline, assessments, enrollment, placement, and accountability-to drive decision-making and instructional practice.
- Overseeing student enrollment and withdrawal process by creating and maintaining student records in data systems while adhering to OSSE’s guidelines
- Ensuring dissemination of records to adult students, schools, oversight bodies, or government agencies are accurate and compliant with deadlines
- Enhancing knowledge sharing around data management and provide training to school leaders, staff, and students
- Attending key meetings at OSSE and other organizations as necessary and related to data sharing/reporting and school accountability
- Participating in training to remain current on data sources, data analysis techniques, and strategies for developing and making data-based presentations
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field required and/or MA in a related field preferred
- 2+ years experience in quantitative data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting
- Knowledge of student information systems or other enterprise data systems
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, students, families, and other stakeholders
- Experience working with incarcerated or at-risk youth (preferred)
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills with keen attention to detail
- Possess an unrelenting belief that all students can achieve and succeed
Site Description
The DC Jail is the adult correctional facility located in DC. Maya Angelou PCS Academy at DC Jail works with incarcerated men and women ages 18-22 who have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The school is located on the Central Treatment Facility (CTF), however, it serves students on the Central Detention Facility (CDF) side as well.
