Position Overview

The Educational Support Specialist plays a vital role in facilitating the academic success of our scholars. This position involves providing direct support in classrooms, study halls, and through individualized tutoring. The Specialist will also serve as the primary substitute teacher when needed. The role is situated within a unique educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in classroom activities and provide academic support during designated times.
  • Engage with scholars in computer-based learning environments tailored to their individual schedules.
  • Act as a substitute teacher for the instructional team as required.
  • Participate in all instructional team meetings to foster collaboration.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and hope for achievement.
  • Engage in various school activities, including retreats and celebrations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (required).
  • Experience working with youth in challenging circumstances (preferred).
  • Strong ability to motivate and collaborate with others.
  • Critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
