Bracebridge seeks qualified candidates for our Desktop Support Engineer position who have a passion for technology, professional demeanor, solid communication skills and a desire to learn. The Desktop Support Engineer will join Bracebridge's information technology group to work on and support our production environment, consisting of user systems, servers, storage/data environments, and virtualization. The infrastructure consists of two datacenters and an office location that provide fault tolerance and resiliency for the critical operations of the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily operational technology support to users including physical and virtual desktop computers, servers, mobile devices and applications
  • Install, configure and deploy desktop and server systems
  • Troubleshoot technology issues from the operating system through applications
  • Document instructions for various technology tasks and troubleshooting steps
  • Execute, create and evolve standardized technology solutions and operating procedures
  • Collaborate with team members on projects and tasks
  • Occasional night or weekend work for items that must occur outside of production hours
  • Occasional travel to datacenters in Boston, MA and Marlborough, MA, or executives' homes
Qualifications:
  • One or more years of IT support experience preferred
  • Professional certifications like CompTIA A+ desired
  • Experience installing, configuring, managing and troubleshooting:
    • Windows desktop and server operating systems
    • Desktop applications including Microsoft Office with add-ins, web browsers, development tools and libraries
  • Experience with operational processes including ticketing, deployment workflows, process validation, daily tasks
  • Experience writing documentation to capture process and technology details for repeatable and deterministic high-quality results
  • Experience assembling computer systems, replacing/updating peripherals and connections
  • Ability to recognize and differentiate between various interface types, including audio/video, peripheral and network interfaces
  • Understanding of IP networking and basic network configuration for PCs
  • Understanding of Active Directory, including domain computer configuration and user configuration, security groups and distribution groups
  • Exposure to VMWare and/or Citrix environments
  • Exposure to Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 environments including basic user email configuration, and mail processing rules
  • Exposure to mobile devices including iPhone and Android
  • Exposure to financial applications including Bloomberg and Reuters
  • Ability to move and set up physical systems including computers, monitors, servers and other devices
  • Flexible work hours to meet team needs
