Make your mark at the world's largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is seeking a Director of HR, Compliance to provide oversight, standardization, escalation support and training to the HR organization in the areas of HR compliance, employee relations, policy creation and maintenance, along with oversight of external legal employment counsel utilization. Under general direction, you will ensure DAA HR practices and policies are compliant with all applicable employment laws and regulations Location: Plymouth, MN What you will do: Identifies and monitors legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures DAA policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance. Creates and manages HR programs/policies/EE Handbook, processes, and measures related to HR compliance, including review/due diligence of acquisition targets' policies. Process owner for placement, storage/archiving, and accessibility of EE Handbook and policies. Supports functional owners in assessing compliance with their policies/processes. Creates and leads a policy review board/committee and establishes a cadence for policy review. Manages the company's Affirmative Action Plans and EEO-1 process and functions as a subject matter expert to HR team members and managers related to these processes/plans. Ensures effective and consistent employee relations practices using standard tools and processes, including developing standardized discipline (performance improvement/corrective action) and investigation processes along with documentation/templates. Process owner and management of EthicsPoint hotline and Navex system; analyzes internal employee relations trends and implements solutions and interventions. Develops and delivers HR compliance training as necessary. Conducts HR audits to identify compliance gaps and partners with counsel to respond to OFFCP and EEOC audits, charges, depositions, interviews, etc. Provides oversight and sign-off on higher risk/level investigations involving potential terminations resulting from complaints of harassment, retaliation or discrimination. Provide interpretation of company policies and provide guidance, coaching, and advice on complex employee relations issues escalated by HR team members. Conduct high-level and complex employee relations investigations as directed by the VP of HR or legal. Change management skills Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills Demonstrated executive influence and presence. Ability to gather and synthesize data into a compelling format in support of HR initiatives. Strong employee relations, performance management and HR compliance knowledge base Self-starter and results-oriented Strong people management/leadership skills Ability to work maturely with a wide variety of confidential information and data.
