Mountain View, United States Nuro Full time
Who We Are

Nuro exists to better everyday life through robotics. Founded in 2016, Nuro has spent eight years developing autonomous driving (AD) technology and commercializing AD applications. The Nuro Driver™ is our world-class autonomous driving system that combines AD hardware with our generalized AI-first self-driving software.

Built to learn and improve through data, the Nuro Driver™ is one of the few driverless autonomous technologies on public roads today. Nuro has raised over $2B in capital from Fidelity, Bailie Gifford, T. Rowe Price, Google, and other leading investors. We've partnered with some of the world's most respected brands including Uber, FedEx, Domino's, Walmart, Kroger, and 7-Eleven.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) to provide strategic support to critical teams at Nuro, and drive important business and people outcomes. As a key member of our HR team, you will coach and advise management and employees across the company to ensure we offer the right tools and resources for our teams to thrive. In this role, you will be a trusted partner to leadership, delivering data-driven insights and people solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness. You'll also help build and launch key training initiatives and design and implement HR programs that align with Nuro's business goals as we continue our journey toward L4 autonomy on all roads.

This role requires strategic support, program management, and hands-on employee relations experience. You will work across multiple functions to ensure a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative culture where all employees can excel.

About the Work
  • Provide strategic HRBP support to critical teams across Nuro, ensuring alignment with business needs and goals.
  • Support our non-exempt workforce within the Operations org as well as other business-facing orgs such as Finance, Strategy, and Product.
  • Coach and advise managers to ensure they have the tools and resources to effectively develop and manage their teams.
  • Drive decision-making by providing insightful data and people solutions to organizational leaders.
  • Collaborate with Talent Management on Performance Management, Engagement Surveys, and Leadership Development programs, driving a culture of continuous feedback, employee engagement, and effective talent management.
  • Design and implement HR plans and programs that align with Nuro's long-term business strategy.
  • Ensure team culture remains high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive, fostering an environment where people can do their best work.
  • Meet with leaders across the organization to diagnose challenges, identify opportunities, and provide feedback to senior leadership.
  • Provide compensation support, including salary planning, promotions, job re-leveling, and salary actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements for employee management to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, fostering fair and consistent application of HR policies.
About You
  • Minimum of 5 years of HRBP experience.
  • Strong experience supporting a non-exempt or hourly workforce.
  • Strong program management skills with a structured, solution-oriented approach to complex challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong business acumen and a proven track record of partnering with internal teams to drive business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and discernment when making significant decisions.
  • Expertise in program management, including designing and delivering HR programs for large teams.
  • Friendly, collaborative demeanor that promotes cross-functional cooperation and trust.
  • Experience working in environments focused on Software Development, R&D, or similar.
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats, from strategic planning and coaching to handling individual employee relations matters.
Bonus Points
  • Experience running and supporting Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging programs and initiatives.
  • Experience supporting recruitment and Learning & Development (L&D) functions.
  • Professional Human Resources Certification (PHR, SPHR, etc.).

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $125,400 and $188,100/year for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills.
