ABOUT THIS POSITION
Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in office) in Arlington, VA
Fluence is seeking an intern to work with the Americas New Customer Solutions team. This role will directly create value for Fluence customers via deployment of new digital technologies into operating sites in the Americas region. These technologies aim to improve key operational metrics in the young and rapidly growing stationary storage industry. This is a significant role in a young, dynamic group inside Fluence with opportunity for high individual contribution and impact. 
As a New Customer Solutions Intern, you will: •Work with Fluence’s extensive fleet operating data, covering multiple GWhs and a decade in operation. •Create and maintain data pipeline architecture. •Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements. •Build analytics that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights. •Create scripts for both data pipeline functions (ETL, data cleaning) as well as Linux and cloud operations. •Implement new digital technology solutions at operating sites, in concert with Fluence senior engineers and servicing team. •Work with senior Fluence technologists to establish processes and norms by which new technologies are deployed and evaluated.   • Works in a manner consistent with Fluence’s values.
  • Has a passion for the future of energy storage and a disinterest in the status quo.
  • Experience with performing and scripting ETL operations.
  • Experience in Python scripting and Linux shell scripting.
  • Experience with cloud systems, especially AWS.
  • Seeking a degree in a field such as engineering, computer science, or similar.
  • Knowledge of SQL / noSQL a plus.
  • Experience with basics of the Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint).
  • Strong problem resolution and decision-making skills, creative and resourceful, display sound judgment and demonstrate accountability.
  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive and agile growth environment.
  • A collaborative spirit in working across teams and functions.
  • Interest in both the fundamentals of technology as well as adoption of technology by society and industry.
