SUMMARY:

This position is the lead operator in the field for the shift. This person will be the best qualified employee that demonstrates the proficiency, training and knowledge to operate the forming/cutting line or the paint/packaging line in an efficient, safe, environmentally compliant and professional manner. This position has no supervisory authority, but rather uses their mechanical skills and knowledge to help and train operators in their area.

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES:

The following lists the principle activities associated with the position of Operation Specialist:

  • Trainer for all shift field positions
  • Make equipment adjustments as needed to ensure proper operation
  • Backup for all shift positions
  • Learn Control Systems of various equipment to be able to operate and troubleshoot when required
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
  • Manage operational consumables
  • Manage and maintain daily round sheets
  • Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner
  • Other duties as assigned

SAFETY:
  • Understand and follow all safety procedures

  • Understand Confined Space and Hot Work
  • Perform duties according to OSHA guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Complete General Plant Safety Training within the first 8 weeks.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and to push-pull up to 75lbs.
  • Must be able to work long periods while continuously standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.
  • Must be able to work environment which is dusty and noisy.
  • Must be able to work in plant environment with extreme seasonal temperatures.
