Job Overview

The Logistics Support Specialist (LSS) plays a crucial role in the effective management of logistics operations, reporting directly to the Sales & Revenue Recognition Manager. The LSS is responsible for the overall coordination of logistics processes to ensure that the organization adheres to best practices. This includes ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations related to environmental health and safety, security, cost management, and inventory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the logistics supervisors and coordinators in developing and implementing strategies aimed at enhancing carrier relationships and customer service.
  • Maximize equipment utilization while focusing on cost reduction and optimization of logistics resources.
  • Facilitate transportation activities for the Heavy Media Plant (HMP) to ensure efficient movement of materials.
  • Oversee daily traffic activities and maintain regular communication with freight forwarders and customers regarding shipments.

Essential Functions

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental standards.

Operational Excellence:

  • Maintain comprehensive tracking of contract files and monitor container sales shipments.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales and shipment activities.
  • Coordinate with drivers to resolve inquiries and service requests.
  • Update and manage the logistics management system to reflect accurate sales and shipment data.

Inventory Management:

  • Develop a multi-stage compliance process for tracking shipments from sale to final payment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience in logistics or traffic management, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing context. A valid driver's license is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management software. Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

This position operates within broad parameters, with the primary goal of achieving excellence in logistics operations, ensuring the highest quality of service while optimizing efficiency and safety.
