Junior Environmental Technician/ Scientist / Engineer / Geologist

We are seeking an early-career Technician/Scientist/Engineer/Geologist eager to hit the ground running and join a team dedicated to learning, professional growth, and creativity. This role focuses on field tasks to deepen your understanding of the environmental consulting industry. Responsibilities include independent execution of field projects, handling all field tasks from mobilization to sampling, documenting procedures, and supporting field efforts. The ideal candidate thrives on autonomous fieldwork and excels in managing field expectations. Approximately 80% of the role involves fieldwork, with the remainder dedicated to office duties like preparing documents (figures, tables, text, email correspondence, etc.), assisting with ad hoc projects, and contributing to team meetings. This position offers an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the environmental sector of NYC, supported by a flexible and nurturing.

Responsibilities:

Manages field work related to Phase I & Phase II Environmental Site Inspections, Underground Tank Inspection, VCP redevelopment, BCP redevelopment, and any other ad hoc field work.
  • Manage all aspects of field work including ordering equipment, mobilization, coordination with subcontractors and site supervisors, sample collection, sample delivery to laboratory, and documentation of sampling procedures.
  • Assembles field reports, receives and reviews analytical data, and assembles tables.
  • Communicates with team members and Senior Project Manager to document field findings and create conclusions and recommendations to client.
  • Eager to learn and remain abreast of all aspects of federal, state, and local environmental compliance regulations.
  • Able to communicate clearly and manage expectations to various entities (site staff, subcontractors, regulatory bodies, and internal team).
  • Wants to grow and learn within a company.


Qualifications:
  • 1-3+ years of experience in environmental consulting, or an equivalent level of experience in cumulation with education is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, or another related field is required.
  • As this is primarily a field-based position, the ability to lift to 40 pounds, stand for long periods of time, and tolerate inclement weather conditions is required.
  • Solid knowledge of environmental health and safety standards, as well as current environmental consulting regulations in the New York City Metropolitan region is highly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, technical writing skills, and communication skills are required.
  • Completion of OSHA HAZWOPER training is highly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
Salary Range: $48,000.00 Annually to $72,000.00 Annually
