The Patient Care Coordinator performs a wide variety of duties associated with patient services. This position is responsible for all components of the patient experience ranging from patient in-take, office visit, patient close-out, and appointment scheduling. The position also oversees the reporting function for the clinic including compliance specific reports as well as corporate statistics.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:30AM - 6:00PM (40/hr. work week). Supervisor will determine the schedule. Start time can flex from 8:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday - Friday based on needs.

Located: Float between two locations 25% of the time: 1060 Saratoga Ave, San Jose CA and 200 Jose Figueres Ave, San Jose, CA

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Responsible to greet patient and check patient in and out. Ensure demographics including insurance information are correct and update as necessary
  • Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to all cash handling policies
  • Experience with KPI tracking
  • Answers phone, takes messages and routes calls appropriately
  • Schedule appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
  • Responsible for waiting room management cleanliness, communicate pertinent information to patients and ensure all patients have been assisted
  • Work with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary
  • Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of healthcare setting experience
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time to nearby offices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of EMR experience
  • 1+ years of experience mentoring and training others
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Working knowledge of HMO/PPO and Medicare Advantage quality requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both in person and via phone
  • Proficiency in PC software computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and other departmental specific programs/applications
California Residents Only: The hourly range for California residents is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour .
