Key Responsibilities:

Performing Paint and Refinishing Work:

  • Paint Application: Expertly apply paint to vehicles, adhering to dealership and manufacturer standards for a flawless finish.
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, and priming as required.
  • Color Matching: Use advanced color matching techniques to achieve precise paint color and finish.

Vehicle Maintenance and Testing:

  • Quality Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of painted surfaces, performing touch-ups as necessary to ensure a perfect finish.
  • Testing and Curing: Utilize specialized equipment to cure paint, ensuring proper adhesion and long-lasting durability.

Managing Your Workstation:

  • Tool Management: Keep your tools and workstation organized, ensuring all equipment is in top condition and ready for use.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage your time across multiple repair orders, maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Warranty and Customer Service:

  • Warranty Repairs: Perform warranty repairs in line with manufacturer specifications, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers when necessary, providing updates on repair progress and addressing any concerns.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Team Collaboration: Work cohesively with other team members, offering support and guidance. Collaborate with parts departments, service advisors, and fellow technicians to complete repairs.
  • Problem Solving: Assist in resolving complex repair challenges, seeking solutions and consulting with experienced technicians or management when needed.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Experience Level: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Collision Center Painter in an automotive repair setting is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in automotive painting and refinishing, with expertise in color matching and application techniques.

Education and Certification:

  • Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Vocational Training: Formal vocational training or certification in Automotive Painting is preferred and may be required for certain roles.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical Dexterity: Requires excellent hand-eye coordination, a steady hand, and mechanical aptitude for complex painting tasks.
  • Color Matching Skills: Ability to accurately match paint colors using both visual and electronic tools.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service abilities for effective communication with customers.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work well as part of a team, contributing to a positive work environment and assisting colleagues.
  • Learning Ability: Eagerness to learn new technologies, painting techniques, and service procedures as automotive technology evolves.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required for test-driving and transporting vehicles.
