JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibilities of the Retail Pharmacy Operations Coordinator are to fulfill duties of certified pharmacy technician and to coordinate the business, technical, financial, clerical and pharmacy support needs of the retail pharmacy. In conjunction with the Pharmacist in Charge and the System Director of Pharmacy, this position coordinates with other EMH departments for the provision of marketing, facilities/housekeeping, accounts payable, revenue cycle, human resources, planning and development for service line and 340b program. The Retail Pharmacy Operations Coordinator provides day to day supervision of pharmacy technicians, inventory management, prepares invoices for A/P and external customers, internal account billing, maintenance of software and point of sale software. Supervises and manages all pharmacy retail practice activities such as Associate health and training, scheduling, patient throughput and prescription delivery, billing coordination and reconciliation of reimbursement, and other duties as assigned. Commonly interacts with Associates, physician, business partners, patients, and other departments with service excellence. Contributes to the effective operations of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance. Must exhibit the F.I.R.S.T values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust). WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS, AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: Works is performed in a retail pharmacy setting. Involves contact with patients. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and subject to interruption. Contact involves dealing with sick people. Work may require stationary position for long periods of time; also moving or positioning for files and supplies. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a calculator, telephone, copier, and other such office equipment as necessary. It is necessary to view and type on computer screen for long periods and to work in an environment which can be very stressful. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently. A flexible work schedule is required. EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Excellent communications skills to communicate with diverse customer groups; including physicians, physician assistants, advance practice registered nurses, pharmacists, technicians, students, interns, Associates, business and community members, and vendors. Strong problem solving skills and exceptional team dynamic skills. Excellent organizational skills with intensely accurate follow through. Working knowledge of pharmacy practice, financials and operations resulting in revenue enhancement and cost containment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS : Education: High school degree plus (5) years of retail pharmacy experience with (2) years supervisory experience OR Associates Degree plus (3) years of pharmacy or ambulatory healthcare, management experience with 1 year supervisory experience OR Bachelors Degree in Business/Healthcare Administration(preferred) with (2) years of pharmacy or ambulatory healthcare experience and minimum of 1 year supervisory pharmacy experience (preferred) Experience: Minimum of (3) years pharmacy technician experience with 1 year in a supervisory pharmacy role in a pharmacy environment. 340B University completion is preferred.
