We are currently seeking a Product Manager who will have responsibility for leading the development, release, and marketing of new and existing products. The Product Manager will work closely with multiple functions within the business unit including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure that products are released to the market that meet the requirements of the customers. The Product Manager must have the ability to effectively manage multiple projects, in coordination with and cooperation from internal teams in an effort to drive revenue growth through the development of new products.

Job Description

New Product Development and Introductions
  • Evaluate product gaps and identify product needs through market research, customer, and field sales feedback
  • Develop business plan(s) to justify investment in product development
  • Manage and drive the schedule for the release of new products by working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to define customer and market requirements, manage NPD project timelines, monitor testing status, and drive the release processes.
  • Work closely with Marketing to create new product introduction packages including product data, sample kits, informational collateral, standard pricing, technical drawings, product images, web promotion, etc.
  • Work with Marketing and Distribution teams to position new products in appropriate distributors and promote through the development of targeted marketing campaigns
  • Work with the Global Sales teams to identify target customers and establish a plan to capture opportunities
Provide Technical Support and Product Training
  • Provide support to Program Management and Field Sales teams with respect to customer presentations, samples, etc.
  • Work with Marketing to develop training materials for new products as part of the release. Target audience includes Program Management, Sales, Customer service, manufacturer's representatives and distributor sales personnel
Market and Competitor Research
  • Research and understand competitor product offerings, strengths, and weaknesses, and monitor competitor activity with respect to product releases and technologies
  • Lead collection of market data from the Field through VOC (Voice of the Customer) activity
Costing and Pricing Management
  • Evaluate and maintain market pricing records to ensure prices are set at market levels and that gross margin goals can be met.
  • Work with Program Management to develop and maintain pricing guidelines for each region and across all channels; OEM, distribution and internal transfer pricing

Ability to travel occasionally when necessary (up to 15%)
Requirements
  • Business or Engineering Degree with five (5) + Years of Experience or eight (8) plus years direct related experience.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS OFFICE applications.
  • Project management background desired.
  • Other requirements as necessary.
