Area Human Resources Director

Tara Hospitality - Area Director of HR and Payroll Manager

Position Objective

The Area Director of Human Resources ("HR") and Payroll Manager is responsible for providing a broad range of HR and Payroll support for hotels in the Tara Charleston, SC portfolio. The position works directly with Senior Hotel Leadership (General Managers and other on property managers) to ensure all aspects of hotel HR and Payroll are functioning smoothly with the end goal of ensuring Tara's mission of "Delivering Uncompromised Hospitality" is well executed.

As an above property Manager you will be required to ensure:

1. Each property has the training and support to complete their required standardized HR and Payroll functions

2. Properties are aware of what HR and Payroll responsibilities are completed on property versus by the HR and Payroll Manager

This requires:

1. A full understanding and ability to manage and implement of Tara's HR and Payroll Standard Operating Procedures' along with industry standard best practices

Manage all administrative tasks related to Payroll and HR for all Tara properties AND help enhance Tara's position as an employer of choice, measured by Team Member Satisfaction and Retention.

Technical requirements include:
• ADP Workforce Now - Full understanding of all modules Tara utilizes for Payroll and HR
• Microsoft Office - Ability to utilize SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint in order to efficiently complete responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
• General

o The ability to remotely communicate and engage with property level leadership along with 3rd party vendors

o The ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with corporate level team members and on property team members

o Maintaining company templates and modules in ADP
• Payroll

o Responsible for overseeing, managing, and processing payroll for Tara Charleston, SC properties

§ Will request, review and process bi-weekly payroll from each hotel property. The review of payroll is intended to ensure that property level leaders (GM's, AGM's and other Managers) are following best practices in regards to time management and wage management such that bi-weekly payroll submissions are accurate and reflect the pay owed to Team Members

§ Additional responsibilities related to payroll processing include reviewing: contract labor hours, accuracy of F&B tips, accuracy of benefit deductions and other earnings

§ Will work on with property level leaders including the GM and AGM to ensure that best practices and SOP's are being followed (timecard reviews, PTO entries, contract labor time card usage etc.)

§ Completing monthly Payroll GL worksheet for accounting and calculating shared payroll costs for accounting

o Responsible for training on property managers best practices related to payroll administration and ADP
• HR

o Responsible for working with property level managers for implementing HR best practices and being a resource for each property to use when it comes to its HR needs. This will include:

§ Maintaining consistent new hire, onboarding, position change and termination experiences for all properties through the use of ADP and standardized documentation. This will include ensuring GM's are trained on Company wide SOP's and helping the VPO hold GM's accountable for completing these tasks.

§ Ensuring onboarding template and new hire template on ADP are efficient and updated as needed.

§ Ensuring that all new hire onboardings are completed accurately and consistently. This will involve a weekly review of onboarding completion and communication with GM's on missing items.

§ Assisting GM's with maintaining and issuing property specific onboarding checklists, new hire packets and termination checklists.

§ Ensuring GM's are completing 90 day evaluations for new hires and that these are being uploaded to ADP.

§ Ensuring Personnel Action Forms to initiate position changes or terminations are consistently used across hotels.

§ Managing all benefits related programs including health, voluntary and 401k

§ Communicating with team members about Tara benefits programs and enrollment

§ Managing enrollment, changes/work events and termination of team member benefits in ADP. Communicate to GMs when enrollment window opens to ensure benefits are selected in time.

§ Assisting Team Members with claims requests

§ Working with the property General Managers to ensure all policies in the Tara Employee Handbook are in place at each property. Specific responsibilities include:

§ Having an in depth understanding of Tara Policies as stated in the Employee Handbook and newly implemented policies

§ Being available to discuss, counsel and guide Property level managers in regards to policies in the handbook and available options in regards to new hiring, progressive discipline and termination

§ This will include ensuring documentation related to progressive discipline and terminations are completed and accurate

§ Managing ADP centralized Recruitment platform for Charleston, SC

§ Maintaining job descriptions and setting up unified method of posting jobs across properties

§ Developing standardized interview and recruitment standards

§ Assisting properties in setting and managing job fairs

§ Working with property General Managers to ensure Team Member reviews and performance documentations are completed (90 day, annual, ongoing feedback) are completed. Ensure properties are managing and maintaining Team Member satisfaction and recognition programs.

o Being available to discuss, counsel and guide Property level team regarding matters of HR

o Completing and responding to unemployment claims

o Completing and responding to garnishment claims

o Managing Team Member communication as it relates to Company wide updates, benefits, and internal job opportunities. To be managed on ADP and through a Company wide newsletter.

o Working with General Managers and property management team to develop standards and requirements for Property and Corporate community outreach initiatives.

o Ensure all hotels have correct Labor Law Postings on property
