SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Springs Rescue Mission considers every position one of ministry and a vital and valued part of our team. The ideal person in this role will be a natural storyteller, responsible for producing compelling written and visual content for Springs Rescue Mission's multi-channel marketing strategy. The Content Marketing Coordinator will create dynamic content that engages potential and current donors, including writing blogs, newsletters, marketing emails and social media posts, as well as producing photos and videos that tell the story of Springs Rescue Mission and the population it serves. Our ideal candidate should be a hard-working, skilled storyteller who uses best practices to help acquire, engage, and retain supporters of Springs Rescue Mission

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Telling success stories by interviewing, photographing, gathering video footage, and writing about current or past Springs Rescue Mission guests.
  • Producing persuasive marketing content for use across multiple channels, including writing copy for fundraising newsletters and direct mail appeals to donors.
  • Creating persuasive blogs, emails, and social media posts to drive donor engagement.
  • Manage SRM's social media presence, posting timely and compelling content designed to increase brand awareness and engage community stakeholders.
  • Working with programs staff to gather guest stories, photography, and video resources.
  • Helping maintain SRM's web presence by ensuring consistency and timeliness of content.
  • Helping to develop and create compelling content for advertising campaigns.
  • Meeting with the marketing and development teams to strategize, plan and set goals.
  • Researching current trends to ensure content is relevant and appealing.
  • Using content calendars to ensure cross-channel timeliness and consistency.
  • Attends all required meetings and reviews SRM emails regularly
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
Requirements

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is a constant witness. Christ-centered and compassionate attitude in dealing with people experiencing homelessness and faithfully upholds and exemplifies SRM's Statement of Faith.
  • Deadline-driven with excellent time management. Detail orientated and organized.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience using Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of various content platforms such as social media, blogs and print media.
  • Excellent people skills. Must be comfortable engaging and building rapport with SRM guests.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (such as Webflow).
  • Passion for the SRM's work and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, communications or similar.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in marketing, communications, etc.
  • Writing and editing experience.
  • Photography and photo-editing experience.
  • Experience shooting and editing video.
  • Previous development experience and/or previous experience working for a Non-Profit or Rescue Mission desired, but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:

Occasionally = 1%-33%; frequently = 34%-66%; continuously = 67%-100%.
  • Typical office working environment with majority of time spent looking at a computer monitor. Occasionally the work environment may vary, based on indoor and outdoor events.
  • Occasionally: must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, standing, bend or stretch
  • Frequently: walking, talking, sitting, climbing of stairs, manual dexterity
  • Continuously: adequate vision and hearing, use of fingers and hands, fine motor skills, good mental condition to withstand consistently medium to high levels of stress

Salary & benefits include the following: $56,000/year - 60,000/year, DOE.

* Full benefits package to include: medical benefits with SRM paying 85% of the medical premium, voluntary Dental, Vision, Allstate Accident Plan, SRM-paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and AD&D. Also offered are 8 paid holidays, 21 days of accruable PTO, paid "Soul Care Retreat" days (up to 4 depending upon availability), and a 403b retirement plan with SRM-match after one (1) year, 100% vested beginning DOH; (Benefits are subject to change based on reevaluation or benefit plan changes annually.)

*Benefits begin at 1st month after completing a full 30 days of employment (I.E. start date 4 January 2021, benefits initiate 1 March 2021) of the following month.
