Director, Business Operations

The Director, Business Operations is a key role within the Allen Americans, responsible for executing the general operations of the organization, managing team expenses, and collaborating regularly with all departments including the Team President and Majority Owner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily team operations under the direction of the Team President.
  • Lead the development of an annual budget and corresponding plan, detailing the goals and objectives of each department.
  • Communicate with Hockey Operations Staff regarding travel, budgeting, payments, reimbursements, and player personnel issues.
  • Serve as the team bookkeeper, producing regular reports for senior leadership, including payroll, commissions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and more.
  • Oversee and manage the team store, including inventory, game day operations, and order fulfillment.
  • Manage game day operational needs, including staffing and promotional requirements.
  • Act as a point of contact for all human resources needs.
  • Manage relationships with the venue, including regular meetings with venue leadership.
  • Build positive relationships with city officials, including but not limited to: the Mayor, City Council Members, City Manager, Finance Director, Director of Parks and Recreation, state legislators, and other public officials in the Club's home territories.
  • Manage relationships between the Club and its primary vendors.
Qualifications, Skills, and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience working in collegiate or professional sports.
  • Operational financial management and budgeting experience required.
  • Strong managerial skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Experience in contract execution.
  • Integrity to handle confidential material professionally.
  • Availability to work unique hours, such as nights and weekends for games.
