The SERP Institute is a nonprofit education research and development organization committed to improving educational outcomes through research-practice partnerships. We are a dynamic and passionate team working towards making a positive impact in education, providing most of our materials for teachers and students as free downloads. We are seeking a Web and Technology Specialist to play a crucial role in supporting the organization’s web presence and analytics capacity and to support staff with technology needs and advancements. 

Position Summary:

The Web and Technology Specialist will be responsible for supporting the organization's online presence, analytics reporting, and internal software/hardware needs.. This includes , security, updates, and optimization of our websites, implementing and maintaining a variety of web technologies, and analyzing and reporting web traffic.t. The ideal candidate will also have strong skills to solve problems that arise with Google Suite, Wordpress, Box, and various LMS and CMS products as well as experience with databases and bulk email distribution. As a small organization, SERP is also looking for someone flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks as projects and demands shift. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's websites.
  • Implement and manage web technologies to enhance site functionality.
  • Monitor website performance and troubleshoot technical and security issues.
  • Create custom reports using analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Support SEO efforts to increase organic search visibility.
  • Document technical processes and create user guides.
  • Manage internal tools such as Google Suite, email, document collaboration, databases, and archives.
  • Operate marketing tools such and bulk email and social media as well as user registration and communication preferences.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues for the organization and provide technical support.staff.
  • Research and report on current technologies, shifting privacy regulations, and general  best practices to help the organization remain in full compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Two years experience with a variety of web-based platforms in a non-profit, corporate, or government setting. 
  • Familiarity with content management systems (like Wordpress) and learning management systems (like Canvas).
  • Experience with Google Analytics and associated reporting tools such as Looker Studio, SEO, and marketing tools such as  bulk email and social media.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

SERP is based in Washington, DC. Most staff work remotely full-time during the hours of 9-5 (Eastern Time preferred). The ideal candidate will reside in the Washington, DC area; however, all candidates will be considered.
