Position Title: Storage Administrator
Location: Patrick SFB, Patrick SFB - near Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral, FL
Security Clearance: Top Secret with the ability to obtain SCI

***This position is contingent upon contract award.***

Position Description:
The Storage Administrator will support the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) at Patrick Space Force Base in Florida. The role involves managing and maintaining storage systems and environments, ensuring their security, performance, and compliance with DoD standards. The position requires expertise in NetApp storage technologies and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Storage Environment Management: Provision new storage environments that align with vendor best practices and DoD, Air Force, and AFTAC policies.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support for NetApp storage systems, including SAN and NAS environments on Windows and Linux operating systems. Support the implementation of databases and virtual environments on NetApp storage systems.
  • Disaster Recovery: Implement and support NetApp disaster recovery solutions using NetApp replication technologies.
  • Auditing and Compliance: Enable auditing of NetApp systems to a centralized log server for compliance with logging and auditing requirements. Ensure storage systems comply with DoD, Air Force, and AFTAC policies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Use NetApp tools to monitor storage system performance and gather historical records for performance analysis. Optimize storage performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Backup Management: Provide technical support for Veritas NetBackup and other backup solutions. Create backup schedules, monitor backup status, and resolve errors.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including test plans and hardware inventory. Provide monthly status reports and technical presentations.
  • On-Call Support: Respond to on-call support requirements within one hour of notification. Provide telephone and on-site support as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a NetApp storage administrator and the ability to meet the key responsibilities of the position.
  • Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Required Certifications:
    • IAT Level 2 Certification: (One of the following required: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
    • NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA)
  • Desired Certifications: NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE)
  • Skills: Proficiency in NetApp technologies, storage networking, and data protection solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess a Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
Work Environment:
The Storage Administrator will be primarily based at Patrick SFB in Florida, working within a secured government facility. The role requires strict adherence to security protocols and may involve periodic on-call support to address mission-critical IT system issues outside of normal working hours.
