Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using X-rays and other radiologic equipment. The individual in this role will provide high-quality imaging services to assist in patient diagnosis while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform radiographic imaging procedures following prescribed protocols and ensuring patient safety.
- Operate and maintain radiologic equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.
- Accurately position patients for radiologic examinations to obtain optimal imaging results.
- Review and assess images for quality, ensuring clear and accurate diagnostic results.
- Assist physicians with interpreting radiographic images as necessary.
- Adhere to safety protocols to limit radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain processes, and ensure patient comfort throughout the examination.
- Follow up with proper documentation and maintain accurate patient records.
- Collaborate with medical staff, including radiologists and other healthcare professionals, to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic services.
- Comply with all relevant regulations, including those from the NYSDOH and ARRT.
High School Diploma or GED
Certifications & Licensure:
- A valid license as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography.
- Preferred: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- English (Speak, Read, Write)
