Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled IT Systems Engineer to join our team. The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing information technology systems in our organization. This role involves analyzing business requirements, recommending IT solutions, overseeing the deployment of hardware, software, and network systems, troubleshooting issues, ensuring system security, and optimizing system performance. Additionally, they will also collaborate with internal and external teams to align IT initiatives with business objectives and promote operational efficiency and growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure for optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Configuring desks and workstations for staff and departments to align with IT requirements.
  • Handle new user setups, including Google Workspace, Office 365, VOIP devices, and distribution of general IT equipment.
  • Provide user support, both in-person and remotely, as needed.
  • Collaborate with external equipment service providers for comprehensive support.
  • Manage hardware, software, networks, and cloud services to support operational goals.
  • Monitor IT systems proactively, performing updates, patches, and backups.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures to protect IT assets from threats and breaches.
  • Developing and implementing strategies for IT system and data recovery in case of disasters or outages, ensuring continuous business operations with reliable backup systems and recovery plans.
  • Managing relationships with external IT vendors and service providers to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met and technology solutions are effectively integrated into the organization's infrastructure.
  • Collaborate across departments to achieve organizational goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, IT systems administration, or a related role, with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting enterprise-level IT systems, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, firewall configuration, and routing.
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery procedures and tools.
  • Experience in managing IT infrastructure projects from initiation through implementation and evaluation.
  • Skills in budget management, resource allocation, and timeline management.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other departments and external vendors.
  • Capacity to make sound decisions under pressure and with limited information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate and communicate efficiently with other team members and departments.
  • Must be able to commute daily to and from Longview, NC, and travel as needed.
