Radiation Therapist-Oncology

Full Time - Day Shift

$30,000 sign on bonus for qualified individuals

Must be able to be on call, including weekends and holidays, and flexible to work above standard hours to meet staffing needs.

Under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the radiation therapist uses ionizing-radiation producing equipment to administer therapeutic doses of radiation as prescribed by the physician for each patient undergoing a prescribed course of radiotherapy. Other responsibilities include patient scheduling and education, maintaining treatment equipment and records, and monitoring treatment area. This individual will be patient centered, exhibit technical expertise, possess good communication skills, and demonstrate a high level of team unity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately delivers a planned course of radiotherapy by administering treatment in a safe manner

  • Demonstrates how to use linacs and CT simulator, and perform patient treatments

  • Provides patient education and excellent customer relations

  • Correctly documents and captures charges for procedures

Requirements:

  • Education - graduate of an Accredited Radiation Therapy program.

  • Licensure - registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiation Therapy.

  • State Radiation Operator Certification.

  • Experience - none required

  • Basic Life Support
