The Opportunity:

Our client is a leading provider of systems and services for stack emissions monitoring at power plants and other industries with CEMS (Continuous Emission Monitoring System) needs throughout the USA. We supporting them in a search for a Field Service Technician to join our team in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

The typical workday of a Field Service Technician involves provide direct support to customers by completing a variety of work, such as new installations, troubleshooting and repairing system issues, maintaining, and servicing CEMS at industrial facilities. In this role, you might find yourself working with a team or individually, depending on the project.

Our client has been in business for over 50 years and over 50% of US electric utility power plants use their software or services. They are a stable business, grow though expanding to serve petroleum refineries and petrochemical plants and other industries. A great compensation and benefits are on offers as well as a solid team atmosphere.

What you'll be doing:

  • Installing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and process analytic systems for industrial customers
  • Troubleshooting issues on electronic, pneumatic, pumps, and other components for proper system operation
  • Averaging 50 - 75% overnight travel to customer sites typically Monday - Friday
  • Participating in on-call rotation, which may occasionally include some weekends, will be required upon completion of training
  • Providing technical support via telephone and the internet
What you'll need to be successful:
  • A.S. degree or military experience in electronics, instrumentation or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of electronics experience
  • Solid ability to troubleshoot systems with various test equipment
  • Able to work in a physically demanding situations that may require you to lift 75 pounds unassisted, stand for extended periods, climb ladders, etc.
  • Ability to climb and be comfortable operating at heights up to or excess of 200 feet
  • Ability to work in enclosed spaces
  • Flexible schedule
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
